President Zardari Calls for Consensus and Dialogue in Parliamentary Address

Islamabad, In a significant address to the joint session of Parliament this evening, President Asif Ali Zardari called for meaningful dialogue and consensus-building among Pakistan’s political leaders to advance the nation’s progress.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari emphasized the importance of fostering mutual respect and political reconciliation, invoking the legacies of Pakistan’s founding leaders such as Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and former Prime Ministers Zulfiakar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto. He shared his vision for prioritizing the needs of marginalized communities and underdeveloped areas, advocating for policies that ensure inclusive growth.

Highlighting economic revitalization as a key objective, President Zardari urged the enhancement of efforts to attract foreign direct investment by improving the ease of doing business and simplifying regulatory frameworks. He praised the establishment of the Special Investment Facilitation Council, aimed at boosting investment in critical sectors of the economy.

The President also stressed the need for robust cooperation between federal and provincial governments and underscored the urgency of developing climate-resilient infrastructure to address climate change challenges. Additionally, he expressed concerns over the resurgence of terrorism, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to combatting terrorist threats.

President Zardari concluded by acknowledging the support of international allies, particularly Saudi Arabia, UAE, China, Turkiye, and Qatar, and reinforced Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding and strengthening its strategic partnerships, especially with China.
