President Zardari Praises Banking Mohtasib for Delivering Rs 1.26 Billion Relief to Customers

Islamabad, President Asif Ali Zardari commended the Banking Mohtasib Pakistan for providing substantial financial relief amounting to Rs 1.26 billion to banking customers in the past year.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a meeting in Islamabad with Banking Mohtasib Pakistan, Sirajuddin Aziz, who presented the Annual Mohtasib Report, President Zardari lauded the ombudsman’s significant contributions to consumer protection in the banking sector.

The President underscored the importance of adapting to technological advances to ensure swift resolution of complaints and stressed the necessity of enhancing public awareness about the Banking Mohtasib’s services to ensure that more citizens can benefit.

Sirajuddin Aziz informed the President that the Banking Ombudsman had processed over 25,000 complaints last year, providing relief to customers affected by fraudulent activities. He also noted the implementation of a new user-friendly online portal that simplifies the process for customers to lodge complaints.
