Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Initiates Measures to Sustain Decrease in Inflation

Islamabad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed provincial governments to enforce reduced petroleum prices and maintain government rates for essential food items, reinforcing efforts to control inflation. He highlighted a significant drop in the inflation rate from 39% to 17% over the past two years, attributing this to the diligent work of both his previous sixteen-month government and the current caretaker administration.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Sharif emphasized that decreasing inflation remains a government priority. The reduction, he noted, stems from lower global oil prices, which should ease financial pressures on citizens. Sharif reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering economic growth and providing relief to the populace, and he expressed determination to continue these policies to enhance living standards.
