Prime Minister Sharif Commits to Continued Role in Global Peace Efforts

Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to playing a vital role in global peace and security, emphasizing the nation’s ongoing commitment to making the world a safer place for current and future generations.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in a statement released on the occasion of the International Day of UN Peacekeepers, the Prime Minister expressed deep appreciation for peacekeepers worldwide, with a special acknowledgment of Pakistani personnel. He highlighted the long history of Pakistan’s involvement in UN peacekeeping missions, noting that over 230,000 military personnel, including more than 500 women, have served over the past sixty-four years. Prime Minister Sharif also honored the memory of the 181 Pakistani peacekeepers who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, declaring that their contributions have made the nation immensely proud and eternally grateful.
