Prime Minister Sharif Meets President Putin to Discuss Bilateral Cooperation and Regional Issues

Astana: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held discussions with Russian President Vladimir V. Putin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Head of States meeting, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in trade, energy, and security.

According to Press Information Department, the meeting underscored the mutual trust and understanding between Pakistan and Russia, with both leaders expressing satisfaction over the growth of their relationship. Prime Minister Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening this partnership and discussed various areas of potential cooperation. An agreement was reached to convene the next Pakistan-Russia intergovernmental cooperation meeting in Moscow soon, and President Putin was invited to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience.
