Islamabad, In a message shared today, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended greetings to followers of Buddhism around the world on the occasion of Vesak. The Prime Minister’s message highlights a commitment to shared heritage and mutual respect across diverse cultural landscapes.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in his message posted on his X handle, Prime Minister Sharif called for the celebration of shared heritage and emphasized the importance of continuing efforts towards mutual respect and understanding. He expressed his hopes that Vesak Day would bring peace, prosperity, and harmony to all.

Vesak Day, also known as Vesakha, Buddha Purnima, or Buddha Day, is a significant festival for followers of Buddhism. It commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and death of Gautam Buddha, the founder of Buddhism, marking a day of immense spiritual significance for millions worldwide.
