Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Commits to Strengthening Ties with Italy

Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing its long-standing relationship with Italy, highlighting shared interests and the potential for increased cooperation across multiple sectors.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in a meeting with Italian Ambassador Marilina Armellin in Islamabad, Prime Minister Sharif underscored the deep, multifaceted relations between the two countries, characterized by decades of goodwill and mutual trust. He emphasized the importance of high-level exchanges and extended an invitation to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni for an official visit to Pakistan.

The Prime Minister also expressed admiration for Prime Minister Meloni’s domestic and international policies, which have solidified Italy’s role within the European Union. He called for enhanced cooperation in education, trade, investment, legal migration, and cultural exchanges, aiming to further the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Italy bilateral relations. Ambassador Armellin affirmed her commitment to fostering stronger ties between the two nations.
