Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated the newly elected office-bearers of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE), expressing optimism for their role in enhancing journalistic standards and combatting misinformation.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister specifically acknowledged President Irshad Ahmed Arif, Secretary General Ejazul Haque, Senior Vice President Anwar Sajdi, and other officials, for their potential to advance the quality of journalism in Pakistan. He highlighted the CPNE’s pivotal role in promoting quality journalism and stressed the government’s commitment to resolving issues facing the journalistic community, emphasizing ongoing efforts to ensure media freedom in the country.
