Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Prioritizes Strengthening Alternate Energy Systems

Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing Pakistan’s alternate energy system during a meeting with the Chairman of China Power in Beijing. This initiative is part of a broader effort to increase investment in renewable energy and improve the nation’s power infrastructure.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister highlighted Pakistan’s substantial potential for investment in the domain of alternate energy. He also noted ongoing efforts to combat power theft as part of the government’s strategy to stabilize the energy sector. During the discussions, the Chairman of Power China praised the rapid construction and high standards of the Sahiwal Coal Power Plant, often referred to as a model of the ‘Punjab Speed’. A new Memorandum of Understanding is set to be signed soon, aiming to enhance power transmission efficiency and reduce line losses in Pakistan, further underscoring the bilateral commitment to energy and infrastructure projects.
