Provincial Ombudsman Criticizes Poor Performance at Quetta’s Lady Dufferin Hospital, Urges Immediate Improvements

Quetta, Provincial Ombudsman Balochistan Nazar Muhammad Baloch Advocate expressed his anger over the poor performance of Lady Dufferin Hospital in Quetta during a hearing regarding issues at the hospital. He criticized the administration for not providing adequate treatment facilities and warned them to take immediate steps to improve services and restore patient trust in the hospital.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Lady Dufferin Hospital was established on government land to provide treatment facilities for women from Quetta city and remote areas of the province. However, Ombudsman Baloch noted that the hospital’s condition and absence of patients indicated serious issues with its efficiency and services. He instructed the hospital administration to take corrective measures to ensure that the hospital can once again attract patients seeking treatment.

The Ombudsman emphasized that improving the hospital’s performance and offering high-quality treatment facilities is essential for the well-being of women in Quetta and throughout the province. He urged the hospital administration to take immediate action to address these issues and restore the hospital’s reputation as a trusted healthcare provider.

Baloch also commented on the broader context of economic development in Balochistan, stating that the province’s prosperity is linked to Pakistan’s economic growth. He suggested that establishing border markets and promoting border trade in Balochistan could help reduce unemployment and poverty across the province. Baloch underscored the need for bold decisions to foster economic development and political stability in the province and the country.
