Senior Management Officers Visit BISP Headquarters to Explore Social Protection Programs

Islamabad, Officers from the 35th Senior Management Course (SMC) of the National Institute of Management (NIM) Islamabad visited the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Headquarters to learn about the organization’s operations and its role in implementing social protection programs for marginalized communities. The visit, led by Directing Staff Ms. Samreen Zahra, aimed to explore BISP’s expertise in providing assistance to those in need.

According to Press Information Department, the officers were welcomed by BISP Secretary Mr. Amer Ali Ahmad, who delivered an extensive briefing on BISP’s foundational principles, nationwide presence, and mission to empower disadvantaged communities. During the briefing, he discussed BISP’s core initiatives, including flagship programs such as Benazir Kafaalat, Benazir Taleemi Wazaif, and Benazir Nashonuma.

Secretary Ahmad also outlined BISP’s registration process for beneficiaries and described its role in supporting communities during times of crisis. He highlighted recent innovations and enhancements introduced by BISP, such as the new payment model, Mobile Registration Vehicles (MRVs), and Digital and Financial Literacy Programs. Additionally, he mentioned BISP’s commitment to inclusivity through initiatives like the Hybrid Social Protection Scheme and the enrollment of widows in BISP.

The session included an interactive question-and-answer segment, where the participants asked about BISP’s budgetary allocations and its partnerships with international donors. They also inquired about BISP’s Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programs and its efforts to empower beneficiaries financially.

The officers expressed appreciation for the comprehensive briefing, which covered BISP’s approach to social protection and its focus on empowering marginalized segments of society.
