Punjab Health Minister to Conduct Post-Eid Review of Healthcare Programs

Lahore, In a strategic move to bolster healthcare services across Punjab, Provincial Minister for Primary and Secondary Health Care Khawaja Imran Nazir has announced plans for an extensive review of the province’s health programs following the Eid celebrations. This announcement came during a recent review meeting of the Punjab Health Roadmap Program, where the focus was on enhancing medical staffing, vaccine distribution, and hospital upgrades throughout the region.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, Minister Nazir emphasized the importance of evaluating the performance of various health initiatives, particularly those targeting primary and rural health centers, the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), and specific vertical health programs. He also highlighted the need for a more effective deployment of doctors, ensuring that no individual is overwhelmed with multiple charges.

A notable area of concern addressed by Minister Nazir is the health care provision for children in urban slums of Lahore and Rawalpindi, with plans to introduce a new strategy for polio vaccination campaigns in these areas. The minister underscored the necessity of adopting innovative approaches for awareness campaigns, extending beyond conventional methods to include messages on polio and other health concerns.

Additionally, the meeting shed light on the crucial role of lady health workers and visitors in the community, with an emphasis on their capacity building to improve local-level health services. This approach aims to strengthen the health infrastructure and ensure that residents have access to necessary medical care and information.

The Punjab Health Roadmap Program meeting, attended by health department officials and private sector experts, reflects the government’s commitment to advancing public health outcomes and addressing the healthcare needs of Punjab’s diverse population.
