Lahore: The Punjab Police has announced a significant commitment to the health and welfare of its officers and their families by releasing over 2.9 million rupees for medical treatment. The funds are aimed at assisting officers and their families who are battling serious health conditions.
According to a statement by Punjab Police, Inspector General of Police Dr. Usman Anwar has approved the allocation of these funds following a review by the Medical Financial Assistance Committee. The initiative underscores the department’s commitment to ensuring the well-being of its personnel.
The allocations include 500,000 rupees for Constable Muhammad Tauseef’s knee treatment and 250,000 rupees for cancer treatment for the wife of Shaheed Constable Muhammad Riaz. ASI Irshad Ahmad has received 290,000 rupees for major surgery, while Constable Yasir Ali was granted 200,000 rupees for cancer treatment.
Other beneficiaries include ASI Muhammad Yaqoob, who received 140,000 rupees for liver treatment, and Constables Tanveer Altaf and Hafiz Faqeer Muhammad, each receiving 100,000 rupees for medical expenses. Additional funds have been distributed among several other officers and staff for various medical needs.
The IG Punjab emphasized that modern medical facilities are also being provided under agreements with health institutions, further demonstrating the police force’s dedication to the health welfare of its members.
