Punjab Police Honor Injured Officers with Medals for Bravery

Lahore, In a recent ceremony at the Central Police Office, Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, awarded silver medals to 13 police officers from the Gujranwala region who were injured in the line of duty, recognizing their bravery and sacrifices.

According to Punjab Police, the recipients, known as ‘Ghazis,’ were honored for their exemplary service after sustaining severe injuries while performing their duties. The ceremony highlighted the personal sacrifices of these officers, including loss of limbs, as symbols of their commitment to law enforcement. Dr. Anwar emphasized the department’s dedication to the welfare of these officers, ensuring they receive the best possible medical treatment and recovery support. The names of all honored officers have been engraved on the ‘Ghazi Wall’ at the Central Police Office, and they will also receive benefits under the Ghazi package.

The medals were distributed among officers from several districts within the Gujranwala region, including Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, and Narowal. Dr. Anwar praised the officers for their diligence and commitment, particularly noting their roles in high-profile operations. The ceremony was also a moment to acknowledge the families of the injured officers, with Dr. Anwar extending his gratitude for their support.

The event was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Additional IG Punjab Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry, DIG Headquarters Humayun Bashir Tarar, and others, underscoring the collective support within the department for its members facing adversities.
