Punjab Police Respond to Self-Immolation Attempt Near Central Office

Lahore, A critical incident occurred near the Central Police Office where a citizen attempted self-immolation, prompting immediate action from Punjab police authorities.

According to Punjab Police, Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has called for a thorough investigation into the incident and ensured the provision of the best medical care for the injured citizen, identified as Asghar, who is currently receiving treatment in a hospital. IG Punjab also directed attention to a police officer, Hameed, who sustained burns while intervening in the incident. Both individuals are being provided with top medical support, and measures are being taken to address the underlying issues that led to the citizen’s drastic action.
