Radio Pakistan’s initiative of launching half-hourly news bulletin lauded

Cross section of society are pouring in with their commendation for the mid hour news summary initiative launched by Radio Pakistan to update its listeners about latest happenings on national and international scene.

In his message, Minister for Water Resources Javed Ali Shah termed the initiative as an important one and expressed the confidence that it will prove to be a milestone in keeping the people well informed. He was confident that Radio Pakistan will continue its strides for introducing more such initiatives in order to create awareness amongst the public.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal said Radio Pakistan is the only credible news provider to the common man and its initiative of two minute news summary every half hour is keeping in view the interests of the people as they want to keep themselves updated with brief news. Whilst appreciating the move, the spokesperson said that we lend full support to it.

Famous drama writer Anwar Maqsood said the services of Radio Pakistan are unfortgetable. He said that he still listens to the national broadcaster and its half hourly bulletin is a good addition to provide latest news and information to the people. He thanked Radio Pakistan for this initiative.

Prominent anchor Asma Sherazi pointed out that Radio Pakistan has a vast outreach as compared to any other media outlet in the country. She said it is an important source of information to the people living in far flung and mountainous regions including those protecting the frontier at Siachen. Welcoming the launch of half hourly news summary, Asma Sherazi said with this initiative Radio Pakistan is fulfilling the responsibility of providing easy access to information which is the fundamental right of every citizen.
