Senate Affirms Equitable System for Student Scholarships Abroad

Islamabad: The Senate was informed that a transparent quota system is in place for the allocation of foreign scholarships to students from all provinces. During the Question Hour, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhary addressed inquiries concerning the scholarship process.

Chaudhary clarified that only a small number of students fail to secure scholarships, typically due to technical issues such as visa rejections. He emphasized that there is no discrimination against students in the scholarship awarding process.

The minister assured the Senate that the government is committed to implementing the allocated quota for students from each province in all medical colleges. This pledge aims to ensure equitable access to educational opportunities abroad.

On a separate note, Chaudhary responded to questions regarding the vacant position of Rector at the International Islamic University. He stated that a summary has been forwarded to the Prime Minister and that an appointment will be made promptly. However, he reassured the Senate that the university’s operations continue without interruption under its current President.
