Sherani District Declared Red Zone, Authorities Rush to Repair Monsoon Damage

Sherani: Following heavy monsoon rains, Assistant Commissioner Sherani Yusuf Hashmi, under directives from Deputy Commissioners Sana Majbeen Imrani and Dr. Muhammad Nawaz Kabzai, assessed and initiated urgent repairs in the region’s most affected areas.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, during his visit, Assistant Commissioner Hashmi oversaw the acceleration of road repair efforts, using bulldozers to expedite the process and mitigate the impact on local communities. He briefed the media, declaring Sherani district a “red zone” due to severe weather conditions that have extensively damaged vital communication roads connecting surrounding villages.

The district administration remains on high alert, proactively addressing the situation with the community’s expectations in mind. Residents are calling for significant attention from higher authorities, including the Chief Minister of Balochistan, to officially recognize Sherani as an endangered district and to prioritize practical steps towards sustainable development projects to alleviate ongoing challenges.
