Sindh Energy Minister Announces SEPRA as Autonomous Energy Authority

Karachi, Sindh Provincial Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah announced that the Sindh Electric Power Regulatory Authority (SEPRA) will be fully empowered to handle power generation, distribution, and transmission in Sindh, making it the first autonomous body of its kind in the province and across the country.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Sindh, Minister Shah outlined the significant steps being taken to legislate SEPRA’s operations during an awareness meeting at the Sindh Energy Department. He highlighted the anticipated benefits, including a reduction in electricity tariffs by 30% to 40%, and the establishment of mini-grid stations across every district in Sindh to simplify electricity distribution.
