Hyderabad, In the wake of a devastating cylinder explosion in Hyderabad’s Pretabad area, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori emphasized the urgent need for a large hospital in Hyderabad comparable to those in Karachi, suggesting that such a facility could have saved many lives during the recent tragedy.
According to Sindh Governor House, Governor Tesori discussed the incident and its aftermath during an informal interaction with media representatives in Hyderabad. He noted that the lack of major medical facilities in the province’s second-largest city hindered effective emergency responses and treatment for the injured. The Governor stressed the importance of enhancing healthcare infrastructure to better serve the population and manage future emergencies.
Governor Tesori also touched on various other issues affecting the region, including an increase in street crime in Karachi and the role of information technology education in the economic development of Sindh. He highlighted that 27,000 youths from Hyderabad have registered for IT courses, which are crucial for securing economically beneficial opportunities, similar to those already benefiting youths in Karachi.
Moreover, the Governor mentioned his administration’s efforts in social welfare, including the distribution of rations to over 570,000 people and the provision of 8,000 laptops to students from the Governor’s House, which he said remains open to the public. To date, over 2.1 million people have visited the Governor’s House.
In closing, Governor Tesori expressed his commitment to improving local healthcare facilities, particularly the Burns Ward at Civil Hospital, and mentioned plans to consult with the Chief Secretary to address these critical needs.
