Tarigami Demands Compensation for Kashmiri Landowners Affected by Development Projects

Srinagar: Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, a prominent political figure, has voiced strong criticism against the Indian authorities’ lack of action in compensating Kashmiri landowners whose properties have been acquired for development projects since 2019.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Tarigami highlighted the distress among landowners due to the negligent handling of compensation by departments involved with the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and other government initiatives. He called for immediate action to address the grievances of those affected by land acquisition, emphasizing the need for fair and timely compensation to restore trust among the local population.
