Technology Upgradation and Skill Development Company concludes course of fashion designing for women

Karachi, April 23, 2013 (PPI-OT): Technology Upgradation and Skill Development Company (TUSDEC) concluded a course of fashion designing for women belonging to marginalized sects of population. The action has been organized in collaboration with First Women Bank Limited (FWBL) under the implementation of USAID Gender Equity Program.

National Institute of Design and Analysis (NIDA) a subsidiary training organization of TUSDEC has been affianced to conduct the courses in Lahore and Karachi where total 40 women have been equipped with the art and sense of fashion design.

TUSDEC arranged proficient trainers with an enhanced outlook of fashion arena and its trends. The trainer has edified the candidates with a market driven curricula so that they can opt fashion design as an avocation to earn an independent living for themselves.

Students have been apprised with various fashion forecasts. The course has been specifically launched for the women belonging to meager income backgrounds, who cannot afford to attain quality trainings due to escalated cost rolls attached. TUSDEC has provided the trainees with free of cost tool kits and transportation facility to ensure their convenience and interest in the course.

The course ended with a hearty display of candidates work where they flaunted their assignments and tasks completed during the course. This is subsequently the second batch of trainees as TUSDEC has already implemented four vocational courses of fashion design and domestic tailoring in collaboration with First Women Bank Limited at its NIDA Lahore and Karachi centres.

The tracer studies for the previous courses unveiled that many women are now practicing their skills as a formal line of work. Bind to its mission of creating a skillful nation, TUSDEC is pursuing various interventions of vocational and technical trainings in KP, Punjab, AJK and Sindh. Through short courses and diplomas in multiple technical and vocational trades, the vulnerable communities are being enabled to work hence, suffice their basic necessities. Enabling the prospects of women socioeconomic empowerment is one of the most sapient enactment to fuel up the economic furtherance in the country as women formulates a major part of our population.
