Tribal woman stripped, beaten in public view in Gujarat

Dahod, June 01, 2023 (PPI-OT): A tribal woman was publicly abused, stripped, and beaten by a group in the Indian state of Gujarat. A video of the shocking incident is making rounds on the social media. The tribal woman was publicly abused, stripped, and beaten by a group, including her estranged husband, in Dahod district of the state, police said.

According to an official report, the woman was living separately from her estranged husband and their four children for the past 19 months. This upset the husband, who collaborated with two others to abduct her from Rampura village. The woman was taken to Margala village, where the public assault took place, an official from Sukhsar police station said. Following widespread public outcry, the police arrested four persons involved in the crime.
