UNDP and Sindh Government Discuss Sustainable Development and Flood Recovery

Karachi, Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, met with the Assistant Secretary General of UNDP, Ms. Kanni Wignaraja, to discuss ongoing and future collaboration on sustainable development projects, with a particular focus on youth education, employment, and the rehabilitation of flood victims in Sindh.

According to Chief Minister Sindh, the meeting, which also included Minister P and D Nasir Shah, Principal Secretary Agha Wasif, and Chairman P and D Najam Shah, covered a range of initiatives under the UNDP’s assistance programs in the region. Chief Minister Shah expressed gratitude for UNDP’s support, particularly highlighting the organization’s role in the “Stronger Sindh: From Promises to Construction” conference aimed at reconstructing the homes of flood victims.

Assistant Secretary General Wignaraja reiterated UNDP’s commitment to supporting the Sindh government in the restoration efforts of flood-affected areas, emphasizing the partnership’s role in advancing sustainable development across the province.
