VHP Leader Assassinated in Nangal, Punjab

Nangal, Vikas Bagga, the president of the Nangal unit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), a prominent Hindutva party, was fatally shot by unidentified gunmen at his business premises in Punjab, India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident occurred when Bagga was targeted in the head at close range by two assailants at his confectionery shop located on Railway Road in Nangal. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The scene was secured by a substantial police deployment led by DSP Ajay Kumar, along with a forensic team. DSP Kumar noted that the murder appeared to have been committed with a country-made firearm. Ropar SSP Gulneet Singh Khurana stated that an investigation is underway, though it is too early to determine the motive behind the killing.
