Aasiya Andrabi denied passport

Srinagar, May 04, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Dukhtaran-e-Millat Jammu and Kashmir has said that the authorities have denied travel documents to its chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi. Aasiya Andrabi was intending to visit Pakistan to attend a conference on Kashmir in Islamabad.

The DeM spokesperson in a statement issued in Srinagar said Aasiya was invited by the Kashmiri American Council to deliver a keynote lecture in a seminar titled ‘Kashmir an Issue of Election or Self Determination’, scheduled to be held in Islamabad, tomorrow.

“Aasiya had contacted the Passport office in Srinagar, but, officials categorically said that she could not be issued a passport. Now Aasiya will deliver keynote address through video conference,” the statement added.
