AJK President Hails Appointment of Kashmiri-Origin Judge in UK

Karachi, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), has congratulated Barrister Azhar Iqbal on his historic appointment as a judge in the United Kingdom, marking a significant milestone for the Kashmiri community abroad. Iqbal, originating from Mirpur, AJK, represents the first individual of Kashmiri descent to ascend to such a position within the British judiciary.

According to Kashmir Media Service, President Chaudhry praised Iqbal’s achievement as indicative of the substantial impact and integration of the Kashmiri diaspora in British society. During a phone call with Iqbal, Chaudhry conveyed his best wishes for a successful judicial tenure and highlighted the appointment as an inspiration for the Kashmiri community to actively participate in advocating for the resolution of the Kashmir issue.
