Aseefa Bhutto Zardari Sworn in as Member of Pakistan’s National Assembly

Islamabad, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, a prominent member of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), was officially sworn in as a Member of the National Assembly (MNA) today in a ceremony at the National Assembly.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the oath was administered by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq. Aseefa Bhutto Zardari secured her parliamentary seat unopposed from the constituency NA-207 Shaheed Benazirabad. Following the oath-taking, the assembly session paid respect with a fateha for the victims of various tragedies across the country, including acts of terrorism, recent rains, and the martyred Palestinians. Subsequently, the session was prorogued.

In a related development, former President Asif Ali Zardari expressed his congratulations to Aseefa Bhutto Zardari on her assumption of responsibilities as an MNA.
