Asian Group endorses Pakistan for UNSC non-permanent seat

Islamabad, June 23, 2023 (PPI-OT): Pakistan has won the unanimous endorsement of the Asia Pacific Group for its candidature for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for the term 2025-2026.

In a tweet, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari thanked the 55-member group for the support and confidence and said Pakistan is determined to make its contributions while upholding the principles of UN Charter. Pakistan will now be seeking election as this region’s endorsed candidate. The election for the seat will be held by the General Assembly in June 2024 in New York.
