Ayesha Raza Calls for Nationwide Support to Eliminate Poliovirus

Islamabad, Ayesha Raza Farooq, the Prime Minister’s Focal Person on Polio, has called on all sectors of society to contribute to the eradication of the poliovirus in Pakistan. She emphasized the significance of the ongoing anti-polio campaign which commenced today across forty-nine districts.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Farooq addressed the nation via PTV, outlining the scope of the current vaccination effort which targets over 9.5 million children under the age of five. The campaign spans several key regions, including sixteen districts in Balochistan, eleven in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, sixteen in Sindh, and six in Punjab.

She also appealed to parents to support polio teams who are making efforts to visit homes to administer vaccine drops, highlighting the critical role of community cooperation in achieving a polio-free Pakistan.
