Balochistan Braces for Potential Floods Amid Heavy Rain Forecast

Quetta: The Balochistan Regional Meteorological Center has issued a flood warning effective from Friday to Tuesday, citing potential heavy rains that could trigger landslides in mountainous regions and cause local streams and rivers to overflow.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the warning specifically targets multiple districts including Kalat, Khuzdar, Barkhan, Lasbela, Zhob, Loralai, Sibi, Harnai, Ziarat, Awaran, Kohlu, Dera Bugti, Jhal Magsi, Nasirabad, Musa Khel, and Jafarabad. Authorities in these areas have been advised to stay vigilant due to the increased risk of flooding.

Concurrently, the meteorological forecast for Thursday predicts hot and humid conditions across most districts, with potential thunderstorms accompanied by rain and lightning in areas such as Shirani, Musa Khel, and Barkhan. By Friday, these weather disturbances are expected to extend to Quetta, Loralai, Qila Saifullah, and other parts of the province.
