BISP and ADB Collaborate to Integrate Beneficiaries into Global Job Markets

Islamabad: The Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, and the Country Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Mr. Yong Ye, convened today at the BISP Headquarters to discuss enhancing technical collaboration. The meeting focused on empowering BISP beneficiaries through skill development and access to global job markets.

According to Press Information Department, Senator Khalid highlighted the need for ADB’s support in developing initiatives aimed at enhancing skills and connecting beneficiaries to international job opportunities. She emphasized that such programs are crucial for breaking the cycle of poverty. Mr. Yong Ye reaffirmed ADB’s commitment and praised BISP’s use of its National Socio-Economic Registry and digital infrastructure, which have been vital in emergency responses and have established BISP as a leader in Pakistan’s digital landscape.

The discussions also touched on the importance of continuous innovation and collaboration in shaping effective social protection policies. Both leaders agreed on the significance of their ongoing partnership and committed to further collaboration to achieve shared goals of social and economic development for BISP beneficiaries.
