Islamabad, June 15, 2023 (PPI-OT): The very severe cyclonic storm BIPARJOY is predicted to hit Keti Bandar at around 1100 hours on Thursday. This was stated by Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman while briefing media persons in Islamabad on the latest situation of the Tropical Cyclone.
The Minister said the intensity of the cyclone will increase amid nearing the shore of Keti Bandar and Indian Gujarat. She said the government is trying to evacuate masses to safer places and it is the only remedy to cope with cyclones in the world.
She said the radius of the present cyclone appears to be greater than the previous one of 1999. Sherry Rehman said Pakistan Army, Rangers, district administrations, provincial disaster management authority and other departments are working together to help the people.
