Ziarat, During a visit to the District Headquarters Hospital in Ziarat, Deputy Commissioner Liaqat Ali Kakar discovered significant staff absences among doctors and support staff, prompting a call for strict accountability measures, including potential legal action and salary deductions.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the visit by Deputy Commissioner Kakar was intended to inspect the operational status of the hospital. During his inspection, he was briefed by MS Dr. Irfanuddin on the current staffing situation. The briefing revealed that of the expected staff, only one out of five doctors was present, and two out of seven paramedics were absent. Additionally, the medicine store was found to be unstaffed.
Expressing concern over the absences, Deputy Commissioner Kakar emphasized that such negligence in duty harms patient care and disrupts hospital operations. He announced that legal action would be considered against those absent, alongside deductions from their salaries as a form of accountability. Further, he stressed the need for strict action if the staff continued to neglect their duties.
Deputy Commissioner Kakar also directed the hospital administration to improve the sanitation system to ensure a healthier environment for patients and to prevent any complications arising from unsanitary conditions.
