Srinagar, The Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), led by the incarcerated senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Shabbir Shah, has made a heartfelt appeal to the people of Kashmir. As Ramadan begins, they urge the community to embody the true spirit of Islamic values, emphasizing austerity and charity towards the less fortunate.
According to Kashmir Media Service, DFP spokesman Advocate Arshad Iqbal, in a statement released on Thursday, highlighted the significance of Ramadan as a time for sharing blessings with those in need. He stressed the importance of empathy for the destitute and those suffering under the harsh conditions of Indian rule.
Iqbal pointed out the contrasting realities within society—on one side, there are economically disadvantaged individuals, and on the other, many have been rendered homeless or jobless due to the repressive policies of the Indian authorities. He underscored the critical need for financial assistance to support these vulnerable groups.
The DFP spokesman called upon philanthropists and charitable donors to act generously, particularly in supporting the victims of Indian oppression. He reminded the community not to overlook the plight of the homeless, the families of martyrs, orphans, and the relatives of political activists who remain imprisoned.
This call to action seeks to rally the Kashmiri community during the holy month of Ramadan, encouraging them to extend their support and solidarity to those affected by conflict and occupation, fostering a spirit of brotherhood and compassion.
