Bhaderwah, A moderate earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale struck Bhaderwah town in the Doda district of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, causing concern and panic among the local population. The seismic event was accompanied by several low-intensity aftershocks, intensifying the anxiety experienced by residents.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Seismology department identified the earthquake’s epicenter as being 29 kilometers northwest of Bhaderwah, with a depth of 10 kilometers. The coordinates for the quake were reported as latitude 33.040 N and longitude 75.830 E. The tremors were not only felt in Bhaderwah but also in the nearby Gandoh area of the Doda district, which lies adjacent to the Bhaderwah valley.

Despite the fear provoked by the earthquake and its aftershocks, officials have not reported any casualties or significant damage to infrastructure in the affected areas. The quick assessment has brought some relief to the community, amidst the initial panic.
