FBR Announces No Tax on Olympic Gold Medalist Arshad Nadeem’s Prize Money

Islamabad: In response to widespread rumors, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has officially announced that there will be no tax applied to the prize money of Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem, quelling concerns and misinformation spread across social and electronic media.

According to Press Information Department, the rumors about taxing Nadeem’s Olympic winnings are entirely unfounded. The FBR emphasized that Arshad Nadeem, who ended Pakistan’s 40-year Olympic gold drought, will not face any withholding tax on his prize money. Moreover, the government is committed to ensuring his earnings remain tax-exempt well before the athlete’s tax filing in September 2025, in recognition of his contributions to uplifting the nation’s spirit and international stature.
