Federal Minister Advocates for Advanced Institutions to Boost Gemstone Sector

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Privatization, Aleem Khan, has emphasized the importance of establishing advanced institutions to propel the growth of the gemstone sector. He expressed these views while presiding over a session of the Prime Minister’s Steering Committee on Gems and Stones.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Khan discussed the potential of recognizing the Gems and Stones sector as an industry, a proposal currently under consideration. He stressed the need for Pakistan to fully capitalize on its mineral resources, specifically gemstones, to enhance economic growth.

Khan also noted the necessity of collaborating with internationally reputed institutions to address the current challenges faced by the sector. This strategy, he pointed out, is crucial for overcoming existing hurdles and maximizing the sector’s potential.
