Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal Highlights China’s Significant Role in Pakistan’s Development

Islamabad, Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has acknowledged China’s substantial contributions to Pakistan’s regional development, particularly in transforming Gwadar into a prospective world-class port city under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). In a discussion with the Chinese news agency Xinhua, Iqbal detailed multiple initiatives by China aimed at uplifting the infrastructure and quality of life in Gwadar.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Iqbal appreciated the establishment of a state-of-the-art hospital and a technical training institution in Gwadar, funded by China. These developments are part of a broader effort by China to foster local educational and healthcare advancements. Additionally, the provision of solar panels and scholarships for Gwadar youth to study in Chinese universities illustrates China’s role in supporting sustainable development and educational opportunities in the region.

These initiatives by China are part of the CPEC projects, which aim to enhance economic ties between China and Pakistan, with Gwadar poised to become a pivotal gateway in global maritime trade.
