Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi Discusses Kashmir Issue with Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi met with Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq at the Ministry of Interior to discuss mutual interests, the law and order situation, and the ongoing issues in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Press Information Department, the meeting highlighted the observance of Youm-e-Istehsal and both leaders expressed solidarity with the people of IIOJK, condemning India’s actions on August 5, 2019, which included the revocation of Article 370 and 35A. Mohsin Naqvi pointed out that India’s actions violated UN resolutions and international laws, leading to severe hardships for Kashmiris under extended curfews and oppressive measures. He emphasized that resolving the Kashmir issue is crucial for peace in South Asia.

The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir highlighted the international community’s role in addressing the suppression of Kashmiris, noting the restrictions on international media and organizations within IIOJK. Both leaders agreed on the importance of international intervention to resolve the crisis. Furthermore, Naqvi assured ongoing support for maintaining peace and public order in Azad Kashmir, including fulfilling its security needs.
