Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Focuses on Skill Development in WWF Briefing

Islamabad: Ch Salik Hussain, the Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, visited the Workers Welfare Fund office to review its operations and achievements, emphasizing the urgent need for skill development among the Pakistani workforce.

According to Press Information Department, Mr. Zulfiqar Ahmad, Secretary of the Workers Welfare Fund, led the briefing. The Minister praised the Fund’s successes but stressed the importance of quickening welfare grant processes to benefit workers more rapidly. During the discussion, he noted the global shortage of skilled labor in major economies like Saudi Arabia, Germany, Korea, and Japan, urging Pakistan to capitalize on this by enhancing skill development initiatives for its youth. He proposed collaborations with external companies to establish advanced skill development institutes, aligning with global labor demands.
