Finance Minister Calls for Collaboration to Enhance Pakistan’s Tax System

Islamabad: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has called upon the Pakistan Tax Bar Association (PTBA) to assist the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) by providing essential data to improve and strengthen the national tax system. This appeal was made during a meeting with a delegation from the PTBA led by its President Anwar Kashif Mumtaz.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the PTBA delegation expressed support for the government’s efforts to expand the tax base and shared insights on optimizing the tax documentation process to boost efficiency. In response, Minister Aurangzeb acknowledged the delegation’s valuable feedback and reiterated the government’s dedication to digitalization, aiming to minimize human intervention and enhance transparency within tax administration.

The Finance Minister also emphasized the critical role of the IT sector as a key driver of economic growth and expressed a mutual commitment to ongoing collaboration and dialogue with the PTBA to achieve improved fiscal efficiency and overall economic development.
