Islamabad, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has unveiled a series of pragmatic reforms aimed at accelerating economic growth across various sectors. During a news conference held today, he highlighted initiatives in digitization, energy, and petroleum as key drivers of this progress.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Finance Minister detailed significant advancements, including an eighty percent growth in revenue collections by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) attributed to these reforms. He also announced the World Bank’s approval of one billion dollars in financing for the Dasu dam project, which is expected to further stimulate economic development.
Minister Aurangzeb emphasized the government’s focus on enhancing the tax to GDP ratio to thirteen percent within the next three years, strengthening economic stability. Additionally, he stressed the importance of public-private partnerships to reduce public expenditures and enhance private sector engagement. The government has also taken measures to ensure timely payments of Sales Tax Refunds to exporters, promising clearance of all pending claims within the next few days.
