Finance Minister Vows to Improve Tax Collection

Islamabad, In a meeting today with Tom Isherwood, Regional Head of Technology and Tax at McKinsey and Co, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb pledged to enhance tax collection efficiencies through digitization efforts spearheaded by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Aurangzeb discussed leveraging data from Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited and REMIT to transition the FBR’s tax system towards digital governance. He underscored the importance of investing in technology and advocated for a cultural shift that supports digital methods within government operations.

The move towards digitization is part of the government’s broader commitment to modernize its revenue collection processes and improve overall governance through technology.
