Former French FM apprised of Indian atrocities in IOK

Srinagar, March 15, 2014 (PPI-OT): A Kashmiri delegation met former French Foreign Minister, Bernard Kouchner, on the sidelines of the 25th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva and apprised him of the latest situation of occupied Kashmir. The Kashmiri delegation comprised Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Altaf Hussain Wani, Sardar Amjad Yousaf Khan, Ishtiyaq Hameed and Ms Shamim Shawl.

Syed Faiz Naqshbandi informed Bernard Kouchner about the Indian continued refusal to implement the UN resolutions on Kashmir that had made the situation in the occupied territory very grave. He said that Indian forces had killed over 93,000 men, women and children while 10,000 Kashmiris were subjected to custodial disappearance in the occupied territory during the past twenty-five years.

Syed Faiz Naqshbandi told him that 63 Kashmiri students, studying in various cities of India, were expelled from India on the ground that they had celebrated victory of Pakistan cricket team against India during the Asia Cup recently held in Bangladesh.

He requested Bernard Kouchner for effective role of France in resolution of the Kashmir dispute according to the aspirations of the Kashmir people and immediate end to Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Shamim Shawl met former member of the UN sub commission for the promotion and protection of human rights and presented her a pen on behalf of the Kashmiri women to develop a peace relationship between the women of the world to speak for justice.
