India cannot suppress Kashmiris’ liberation movement

Srinagar, June 22, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) and the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party Chairman, Shabbir Ahmad Shah has said that Kashmir is an internationally recognized dispute.

Shabbir Ahmad Shah addressing a meeting of his party office bearers and activists from Kulgam and Islamabad districts in Islamabad town said that the countless sacrifices of Kashmiri people had centre-staged the Kashmir dispute at the international level. He said that India was trying its best to suppress the liberation movement through different tactics but it would never succeed.

He denounced the statement of Indian Home Minister, Sushilkumar Shinde regarding the Amarnath yatra and said that the yatris were secure in the territory. He said that the statement of Indian Home Minister was aimed at defaming the Kashmiris’ ongoing liberation movement.

Shabbir Shah said that financial packages and development projects were no alternative to resolution of the Kashmir dispute, adding that the unprecedented sacrifices of the Kashmiris would not be allowed go waste. He asked India to read writing on the wall and give up its rigid and unrealistic stance and settle the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions.

He also expressed serious condition of illegally detained religious scholar, Qazi Yasir, adding that his health was deteriorating due to lack of medical facility. He demanded immediate release of Qazi Yasir.
