Indian Government Enforces Lockdown in IIOJK Ahead of Independence Day

Islamabad: New Delhi-controlled State Investigation Agency, along with Indian paramilitary forces personnel, have raided the house of jailed Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, and several other houses in Srinagar city of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Radio Pakistan, they raided and searched houses in eight places in the city.

On the other hand, Indian government has imposed a sweeping lockdown across occupied Jammu and Kashmir ahead of its Independence Day on August 15. Heavy deployment of Indian forces has transformed the territory into a tightly-controlled military zone, deploying multi-tiered checkpoints, area domination exercises, heightened frisking, and extensive vehicle inspections across twenty districts, especially near border zones.

In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian police have conducted raids on bookshops across Rajouri district to seize the 25 books, banned by the Modi-led Indian regime to erase the historical facts on the Kashmir dispute. According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian police in a statement in Jammu confirmed that Police carried out extensive searches at multiple locations across the district to trace and seize books that have been recently prohibited. The action was taken to prevent the circulation of the prohibited literature. The police advised general public, especially bookshop owners not to buy or sell any of the 25 banned books.
