Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Vows to Eliminate Terrorism, Cites Foreign Influence in Balochistan

Lahore: In a firm declaration of intent, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi today reiterated the federal government’s commitment, in collaboration with the Balochistan government, to eradicate terrorism from Pakistan, specifically addressing the challenges in Balochistan.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a press conference in Lahore, Minister Naqvi praised the valor of security personnel in Balochistan who have effectively countered terrorist threats. He emphatically stated that those perpetrating attacks in the region should be identified not as dissidents but as terrorists, with foreign elements behind much of the violence.

The minister disclosed that the terrorist networks, including those of the Khawarij, are primarily orchestrated from Afghanistan, stressing that the Pakistani government is in active discussions with Afghan authorities to address these cross-border terrorist operations.

This statement underscores a significant aspect of Pakistan’s counterterrorism strategy, which involves not only internal security operations but also diplomatic engagement with neighboring countries to secure peace and stability in the region.
