Islamabad Approves Significant Wheat Subsidy for Gilgit-Baltistan

Islamabad, The Economic Coordination Committee’s approval of a 7.3 billion rupee wheat subsidy aims to alleviate the food crisis in Gilgit-Baltistan, as stated by Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Amir Muqam. This financial measure is set to address the urgent need for wheat subsidies in the region, ensuring food security and stability.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Muqam emphasized the importance of Gilgit-Baltistan’s prosperity to Pakistan’s overall economic health. He highlighted the region’s potential contributions to national development, particularly through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the tourism sector, signifying the strategic importance of Gilgit-Baltistan in Pakistan’s economic framework.
