Islamabad Police Dismantle Notorious “Chaska” Dacoit Gang, Recover Stolen Valuables

Islamabad, The Islamabad Capital Police’s Anti Robbery and Dacoity Unit (ARDU) has successfully arrested five members of the infamous “Chaska” dacoit gang, notorious for their involvement in numerous house thefts and dacoity incidents across the city. The operation led to the recovery of a significant haul of stolen items, including cash, foreign currency, gold ornaments, and other valuable possessions.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrest was made under the special directives of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, as part of an intensified crackdown against criminal elements aiming to purge the city of crime. The operation, which fell under the jurisdiction of Lohi Bher police station, was executed following orders from SSP Investigations and SP Investigations, showcasing a strategic use of technical and human resources led by the Incharge of ARDU.

The apprehended individuals, identified as Waheed Ullah, Noman Ahmad, Shoaib Khan, Ashraf Ullah, and Imran Khan, were found in possession of Rs 5.5 million in cash, foreign currencies, gold ornaments, seven expensive wrist watches, one motorcycle, four LCDs, three batteries, and a 07mm rifle. These recoveries were linked to 12 cases already registered against the accused, with further investigations set to continue.

The successful operation has drawn commendation from senior police officers, who have directed all officials to maintain an effective crackdown against individuals involved in criminal activities. This effort underscores the Islamabad Capital Police’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the citizens’ lives and property, reinforcing the resolve to combat and eliminate crime within the city.
